Proposed waste burners
- Please email
us about any new proposals for waste incinerators
At least
17
large-scale municipal waste burners are proposed
in Scotland. If they are all built they
would burn more than 2 million tonnes of waste per annum. Senior DEFRA
advisor Peter Jones states that burning waste produces up to 2 tonnes of
CO2 per tonne of waste.
Additionally,
there are proposals for 5 very large biomass incinerators (including four
by Forth Energy, and one by Tullis Russell [click here]
- these are highlighted in gray.
