The Moredun Foundation carries out animal and clinical research into disease control treatment and prevention. This site was granted a PPC Part A permit in December 2009 having previously operated under LAPC and latterly PPC Pan* B permit. The permit is for the incineration of hazardous waste (Hazardous by virtue of infectivity rather than of a chemical nature) in an incineration plant which is an activity requiring a permit from SEPA under Schedule 1, Section 5. 1 Part A of the Pollution Prevention and Control (Scotland) Regulations 2000 (as amended) The
incinerator in question is rated at up to 200i<g/hr.

The site has recently completed commissioning to incinerate Waste incineration Directive wastes; there was a single exceedence of the Carbon monoxide emission limit value during said commissioning activities.

Moredun were granted a PPC Part A permit in December 2009 to operate a hazardous waste (by virtue of infectivity rather than chemical nature) having previously operated under LAPC and latterly PPC part B permit.

The permit is for Incineration of hazardous waste in an incineration plant which is a an activity requiring a permit from SEPA under Schedule 1, Section 5.1 Part A of The Pollution Prevention and Control (Scotland) Regulations 2000 (as amended) The incinerator in question is rated at up to 200kg/hr

The incinerator plant upgraded to meet the requirements of the WID installing additional abatement plant, heat recovery systems and continuous monitoring. At present has not commissioned to burn WID wastes; this is expected to occur during the week commencing 18 January 2010. No breaches have been identified.
