Council
finds "lost" letters, 4 March 2010 MRAPP campaigner Maggie Proctor recently challenged NLC Planning on the number of objections received regarding the Carnbroe pyrolysis proposals. "The report from Planning Dept states 4298, yet 5777 passed through my hands." Today
North Lanarkshire Council confirmed that “another box was found in
Coatbridge” with around 1400. Mystery solved! Ms
Proctor added, "I’m just glad that our claim of ‘almost 6000’
objections (which would include all those posted on line, sent to Elaine
Smith, Tom Clarke, Richard Lochhead, Nicola Sturgeon etc) stands up to
scrutiny. Bring in Audit Scotland anytime!" MRAPP
expects to be informed of the date for the proposed site visit/hearing
(which the Group will attend) in a couple of weeks – campaign supporters
will be kept updated.
