SEPA raises
concerns over Grundon application

Today SEPA has submitted a letter to the planning department of Perth and
Kinross Council, in which it raises several objections to Grundon's
application to build an energy-from-waste gasification incinerator, which
in its view fails to provide sufficient information to ensure that it will
meet Pollution Prevention and Control Regulations 2000. The watchdog's
most serious objection is noise that would affect Perth Prison, which it
considers will be difficult to solve. However it also says that it more
information is required to ensure that air quality would be maintained.
